Nvidia geforce 8 series in agp?

is there any sign of the geforce 8 series coming out in agp interface
its due to happen, but has anyone seen it yet,the radeon x1950 series came out in agp interface but i will be interested to see the agp version of the 8500/8600 and the 8800
the main problem i have noticed with agp power graphic cards is how "power hungry" they are
i have a agp version of the nvidia geforce 7600gt(agp) and i had a 400watt p.s.u,but had to upgrade to a 550watt psu,however the manufacturers state a 350watt p.s.u(i only run 1 x hdd,1 x dvdrw,floppy drive,and of corse the 7600gt)
how can this eat up 400watt of power, well its running fine now with 550watt,so heres the questions again
1)when will wee see the agp versions of the 8500/8600/8800?
2)why are agp cards so"power hungry
and finally, does anyone remember when 3dfx tried to do dual agp cards(like s.l.i),i heard of it but apparently it never took off
cheers guys

Answer:
I highly doubt they will be released in AGP, and if they are it will probably only be the 8500and 8600 cards. Its getting to the point that only a few would truly benefit from the cards power. The other components will really hold the card back.

I am not sure about the power questions, I cant help you there. As for the 3dfx cards, I know exactly what you are talking about. I owned and used dual Voodoo 2 cards in my system. I did notice a good gain in performance with Half Life, the reason I bought the second card. These cards were PCI, not AGP.

The reason it never took off was because the cards, which were just 3d cards, were too expensive. I think I paid $200 for my first one. The 2nd card I got used for like $50, that is the only reason I got it.

From what I heard Nvidia was looking to make a clean break form agp, so no 8000 series will be appearing on agp.
8series on AGP Whats the point???
GEFORCE 7800GS by Gainward. Best clock speeds and performance. I think ati maybe bringin or have brought out a x1950xt on agp but i may be wrong. Upgrade to PCI eXpress.
