Answer:
As for your current system, all those cards you looked at be way over-powered for what your CPU could nurture them with, I didn't even entail to check if they were AGP or not, the moment I saw the like of X1950 Pro or 7950GT made it obvious you are aiming far too illustrious.
You didn't say what card you currently enjoy, but I would recommend a second-hand GeForce 6600GT or 6800, or Radeon X800 if (and solitary if) they would be a significant upgrade from what you currently have. You'll be capable of pick any of those up very cheaply on eBay, and if you currently hold anything slower than a GeForce 6200 or Radeon 9700, they will be a very cost-effective agency of improving graphics-perfromance.. If you dance for anything faster than a 6800 or X800 (or any new a bit than second-hand card), you will be wasting your money as it will be held vertebrae by your XP 3200+ processor in most games, and you'll hold to sell the card anyway as soon as you get hold of a new PC.
Get one of those cards I mentioned and nearby is no need to upgrade the PSU, the card shouldn't cost more than $60, and another 512MB of memory if you have need of it won't come to much more than $30. That leaves $300 you can already put aside to your next computer.
To be honest near you, wait for a while more, wait for true Quads and Fully Enabled DX10 Cards to come out (3rd Generation components should be best)... but this is of late my opinion... to me buying a PC "now" is a debris of money!
Holy crap, well I'm not gonna click on incredibly link. But if you want a well brought-up gaming computer I suggest you save up and build a up to date computer. AGP = OLD!
I hate to say-so this but most namebrand computer parts are the best, because of warranty and how long they last.
I suggest you free up between 700-1200 for a good gaming computer...
Here are my atmosphere requirements:
160 Gb Hard Drive
Case under 80 dollars, usually cool master or antec.
Mobo that can button DDR2 667 or 800, and 1 PCI-E slot.
AMD 4200+ or above.
Intel E6200 or above. (Pricey)
1 Gb worth of Ram (2Gb if you can afford it)
Any DVD/CD-RW
500w Power Supply\
Graphic card you have a sizeable collection so it's up to you but I suggest either the 8800 GTX, GTS or the 7950.
Remember the after that you buy it the more $$$ you save because computer parts are other outdated every 3.5 months.
If you need added help, e-mail me.
It really is time to upgrade to PCI-X. But if you insist on AGP here are some possible cards:
