USB 2.0 controller out of action?

I own an ASUS motherboard with USB 2.0 ports. I also hold Windows XP with service pack 2. But when I plug any USB device surrounded by it tells me that I don't own a high speed USB port. I can't install the USB drivers from the ASUS cd because it tell me that I already have Windows XP which have the drivers built in. I be just wondering if anyone could comfort. And I am not going to buy a new motherboard freshly for high-speed USB ports. Thank you.

Answer:
