Computer won't bootup?
Answer:
The thing that is happening is that your PC isn't even POST-ing which can happen from a corrupted BIOS caused by anything from power outage to overclocking to anything! It doesn't matter how many times your going to add working FRUs (Field Replaceable Unit [PC components that are easily replaceable]) in the PC, as long as the BIOS is corrupted, its not going to POST, until you do a CLRBIOS, or a reset in layman's terms... Its nothing hard to do, just locate a big flat round battery on your motherboard and remove it (gently of course) and wait out 5 minutes or more, and then try switching the PC on without the Battery in, you'll notice that it wont boot, then replace your Battery and press the POWER ON. If your a more advanced user and can locate your BIOS on your motherboard, you can find a jumper that will have something like CLRBIOS writing on it, and its going to be 3 pins:
. [. .] Lets say this is the actual jumper settings for
normal boot.
[. .] . Switch the jumpers place like so and press
Press the POWER ON once, then replace
the jumper to its original position and Press
POWER ON
After this your PC should boot up, if not then don't hesitate to Contact back!
P.S.: If there is a HDD(Hard Drive) problem, it should be displayed during OS boot, HDD isnt a necessary component for a PC to Boot up, its necessary for OS Boot
Do all the fans spin up ? Do you get any beep codes from the system ? Try it with no video card, should give 3 beeps, if no beeps, probably motherboard or CPU failure
Maybe the port where the monitor plugs to the computer has a problem, lint or damage
Does the computer turn on, but no signal to the monitor? If so, maybe you connected the monitor cable into a different input. Also, disconnect the cables and check the pins inside, maybe one of the pins was bent (do your best to straighten it out if this happened). Also, make sure you have power to the monitor (could it be plugged into a switchable outlet or even a dead outlet?).
Does the PC beep more than once, if it does, this is signaling there is a problem that is stopping the PC from booting up.
Jason there cud be many thing wrong wit it but try replacing the battery on the mother board.
Is the Hard-drive spinning or not? maybe the hard-drive is not responding.
You either fried the motherboard (which is not too likely but still might be the case) or your hard-drive fried(probably what happened). So you will need to get working hard drive, and if the hard drive is completely new you will have to reinstall the operating system.
hope this helps
Good Luck
If the original video accelerator is on the motherboard, then you need to reconfigure the BIOS before you connect the monitor to the PCI card.
Simply plug the monitor back into the onboard video VGA connector and reboot the PC. Press F2, Del, or F1 depending on your PC and you should boot into the BIOS mode.
Go to the Video Settings tab and change the setting to read PCI or AGP, whichever you have and save the changes.
Plug in your monitor now to the new video card, restart your PC and you should be in business.
Goos Luck!
