Dvd burning problem need help urgent?

Maybe it was a rip off one. How about you look for a better one and return that one. It could be malfunctioning.
Sounds like the DVD you are trying to burn is made by Sony. They will jack up any hopes of burning DVD's.
Look on the movie and see if it says Sony Pictures
power calibration error is because of the drive problem you have to change it or try writing in low speed like 4x or 8x.
Clean the dvd lens and circular rubber pad the disk sits on.
Update the firmware for the device to a current stable version.
{while computer is still on}
Open the dvd tray and leave it open.
Turn off the computer.
Ground yourself by keeping one hand on the metal part of the case or if you have a grounding strap handy, use it.
Remove the drive from the computer.
Remove the screws.
Remove the front bezel, it will just hang loose held by the tray.
Clean the lens with a q-tip or if you have lens solution handy.
Clean the rubber pad with a piece of sticky tape to pull the lint and dust off.
Re-assemble and put the drive back into the computer, connect the cables.
