Can all hard drives be installed perpendicular into case?
Answers:
Any orientation is fine... keep in mind that different brand-name manufacturers have built cases of various types- minitowers, desktops, slimlines- with drives mounted every which way. Just make sure your cables have a little slack and there's good airflow.
You can install it any position you want.
Many older Hard Drives will get damage if they are not placed correctly - not inside the case, but with respect to the ground, because they are designed to spin either vertically, or horizontally, but not both ways.
So it doesn't matter if they are perpendicular or horizontal on the case, as long as they are properly set with respect to the ground.
Its been my experience that as long as they aren't cockeyed they should be fine. Basically don't lay it so that its resting on the edge of a corner.
