My dvd burner won't finalize the burning process so the dvds i burn won't play in my Ps2 or dvd player.

My advice go with Nero burning software. I can burn at the maximum speedy and never have a single problem with the disc. Also maybe try a higher quality DVD as low quality can cause problems with burning. Try Sony or Verbatim.
Here are some tips.
1. Burn slower. If your DVD Burn software shows that you might burn at 12 X and you can set it SLOWER, then set it to about HALF of the default burn speed.
2. Always set to BURN ONCE with the Finalize option. Never use the Multi-session mode. If your DVD burner program does not have this optional setting, then get Nero or Roxio.
3. WHOA, be careful how you handle DVDs. Always look at the surface for tiny scratches, fingerprints and dust.

It can convert mpeg/avi to DVD and burn DVD on Mac.
Hope Mac is available for you, and you can just have a try.
