How does ATI Crossfire work? is it 2 of the same Graphics card working together?
Answer:
Basically, Crossfire from ATI and SLI from nVidia involve using two of the same video cards at once. Both technologiles can use a chip to connect the cards together internally, and ATI also has some that use an external connector.
The second link in your post is to a Pyhsics card, which is totally different. This card is dedicated specifically to figuring out the physics of objects in motion.
Think of it this way, now you have a physics card that figures out (based on speed and materials) how far the broken glass flies when you crash you car into a tree. All the video card has to do now is paint the picture. Before, the video cards and/or CPU had to do all that work.
There is a lot more to Physics cards, but that's the main idea.
