Maxtor HD problem, buy a maxtor hdd for two days downloading stuff for 13 to 15 hours,then it restarting again

It restart again and again and I can't boot into my WIn XP. Is there something wrong with my Maxtor.
And yeah, I have no air conditioner, but there no problem with my Western Digital. Help, what's the problem, is it the Maxtor? If it is, I'll never buy Maxtor ever again!!

is the maxtor drive set to slave and you might have gotten a virus from downloading thins its preaty common to have that happen also make shure your computer stays as cool as possible that may also cause the processor to heat up to hot and restart to try and cool off
