How do I flash my motherboard bios?
Answers:
There will usually be a file that you can download and extract to a floppy disk to make it bootable. When you boot to the disk, it should run through a bios flashing utility and update it.
Make sure your computer is connected to a battery backup. If the power goes out during the flash, it will turn your BIOS chip into a paperweight. It's usually a pretty quick process though, so you can take your chances. (I've always been lucky) =)
download the bios from the manufacture then pt it on a disk and boot from that disk
Depends on the manufacturer and the age of the board. Some manufacturers have utilities that flash the BIOS either in Windows or with a built in program in the BIOS.
Others still use the old method of booting into DOS and doing it there.
the safest and easiest way is to go to your motherboards manufacturers web site and download your appropriate bios update from there, this will also give you comprehensive step by step instructions on flashing the bios, BUT if you are at all unsure DONT DO IT as if you flash the bios incorrectly or with an incorrect version then your motherboard will be unusable as once flashed it cannot be reversed so be very careful.
