Trying to install additional RAAM onto my new PC.?
Answer:
yes there are several types of ram, look at the wiki page, and yes I'd try the other way around too
also sometimes it takes a firm push to get them in, but not hard enough to snap it... it's a tricky thing sometimes
there r mainly 2 types of RAMs dd and SD check Ur's
You have the wrong memory, don't try to force it . It should snap in, but if the white fasteners don't reach then I'd say you have the wrong memory type. There are many different type of memory.
Take a look at your old ram. on the stick the side that connects into the mobo there is a little slot. see if this is matching up on the new pc. it is'nt, is it? if you have a really old computer the ram you have won't fit into todays computers as most of them take ddr or ddr2 both of which are different as the notches on the sides are different. Find out exactly what type of ram is in your pc either by looking at the system specs that came with it or by removeing the ram thats in it and checking. Then goto newegg or geeks.com and buy some new ram. If you can't wait for the delivery bestbuy is cheaper than circuitcity or compusa.
