I know this sounds silly, but Ive see people guilty of this, including me - is at hand a write-protective lock on it? Thats like asking "own you checked the switch at the socket?" for your pc, but it's a start. Failing that, check that your stick is formatted to be compatible near the pc's you use it on. You can do this I think by going into control panel, or sometimes a porthole comes up when you plug it in and prompts you to do this. They are pretty robust little things, mine's be through the washing appliance on a 60 degree cycle and still works without fault. Keep trying.
