I have Tom Clancy's rainbow six vegas and my graphics card Nvidia 6800 does not support Shader Model 3.0 but instead it supports Shader model 2.0.... does anyone know how to upgrade it??

Stupid guy telling you for a new card.
6800 supports 3.0
Get new drivers forceware 8 something for them.
If you have done that already,
Uninstall drivers, remove card,insert card,then install drivers,make sure you remove card from device manager too.
This function is built into the GPU - Get yourself a new card.
