Storage life span for cd, dvd, and harddisk...?

Can anybody tell the life span of the above storage.. can it be permanent or it will inaccessible in years time? i just want to keep some data forever.

Answer:
No media format will last forever, but as a rule, in the dark, in a safe, with no magnetic fields a HDD will last for 10-15 years, a CD of great quality about 5-10 and DVD similar.

Keep it dry, no humidity and dark, dark is GREAT for keeping things safe.
may it be more then your life. and may be shorter then yours think. simply it ll. keep it save and if you have a supportable drive your CD And DVD will retain your data till it scratch. but your HDD (harddisk) is unpredictable
