USB/Firewire Hub connected to laptop only by firewire. Would the USB devices connected to the hub work?

Answer:
They should work, from what I've seen all the hubs that can connect to either one will act as a go-between for either one.
Of course, depending on the speed of the firewire port it's connected to they may work pretty much normally or somewhat slower.
(firewire ports vary in speed from 100 to 800Mbit/s and USB varies from 1.5 to 480Mbit/s)
