What's the best thing to do?

Answer:
SP2 installs fix if port can handle hi-speed.otherwise turn off the message by following link below
This is just an annoying balloon message that Windows XP pops up to let you know that your USB ports are USB 1.1 and not USB 2.0 and you are pluging in a USB 2.0 device.

im not quite sure, but i think your virtual memory is too low, or you have too many unneeded files of the sort, because I've seen that when I plugged my flash drive into my school's computer, and their computers are ridiculously slow. try cleaning up your comp a bit, re-plugging in.
It's not really an error. Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) is many times faster than USB 1.1. Your Hi-Speed equipment will work plugged into a USB 1.1 port, just not as fast as it should. You should upgrade to USB 2.0. If you have a spare slot on your motherboard (and your motherboard supports USB 2.0), you can add a USB 2.0 card inexpensively. It's relatively easy to do but if you're not comfortable working inside your computer there are lots of computer stores that will do it for you (for a fee). It's an easy, inexpensive upgrade and you will see a performance boost.
that happens to me too, it doesn't really matter, the wireless adapter will just go a little bit slower
Just like what Omega F said, your plugging a USB2.0 device to a USB1.1 port. No need to worry as it is not really a problem since your computer could still read the device and you could tranfer files to and from it. Of course, if you had USB 2.0 ports, file transfer speed will be faster. If the message is such a sore, install a USB2.0 adapter PCI card.
