Memory leaking?

my comp slows after being on it for a short length of time

Answer:
you either have a memory leak or a rouge process when it starts to slow down got to your task manager (CTRL_ALT_DEL) and find which process is running the CPU at 100% or as high end this process and the PC will speed up. find out which software app is causing it and uninstall it and re-install it
It's not a memory leak if you have norton on your system take it off, also check for the virous called worm this can really slow your system down. You could also have a nasty trojen on their. If you are suspicious about your memory you can down load a program called mem-check, Write this programe with nero as a boot disk then go to your bios change first boot device to cd-rom .Re-boot system the programe will automatically kick in if numbers appear on the bottom panel then your memory is corupt if it is replace memory with new...
