I'm buying a 8800GTX does it matter on manufacture?
i was thinking of getting an Albatron
does it matter what manufacture i choose
or will it make a huge difference
Answer:
Yes.
Not only do different manufacturers produce different quality products in terms of reliability, but there is more to a graphics card than the GPU. How the card is designed can affect performance.
Read reviews. Try newegg.com
The difference of each is the warranty offered and some are clocked at higher speeds. (nothing you cant do with coolbits or similar).
I prefer BFG
Normally BFG, Evga, and XFX are highly reviewed, moreso than other brands. MSI is good too.
The manufacturer is where you get the reliability from. The 8800GTX is just a chip on the board. The manufacturer then chooses which type of heatsink or fan or both and chooses the capacitors. I like eVGA myself but albatron is not a bad manufacturer. Good Luck HTH.
its 2 basic boards one good (retail) quality and one lower (oem) with the chips which is sold on to organizations who in return upgrade them in there own way by adding different features: cooling, memory, caps, overclocking, warranty and support, connections etc.. are all options for them . some work better then others, so you need to go review site to compare them side by side and its worth it as you will be spending allot of money on a card
will take time to read all but worth going through some
The maximum performance variation is about 10% from manufacturer to manufacturer
