I have a Microsoft Laser 8000 mouse. And many times, when I click the middle button, it doesn't work. Maybe it's because this button is also doing horizontal scrolling while older mouse don't do that? Did you have the same problem?

check your settings, that way you will know which button is for what function... its just a matter of practice.. it will be easy once you use the mouse often..
