Video card problem need help?
by the way i have windows xp and i'm using pci slot
Answer:
were you using the onboard video before installing the new card? If so, you probably have to disable it from the cmos settings and tell your computer to look for the new card. To get to your cmos setting (some times refered to as BIOS settings) you have to press a button on your keyboard durring start up. Normally this is the 'del' key or 'f2', but could be some other odd combination depending on the computer. (I had one that required 'ctrl'+'alt'+'return')
Then go to the video settings and set every thing up that it asks. mainly to use the PCI slot over the onboard or what ever else it may be set to.
Most Computers within 4 years of age or so will not require you to disable your old drivers. When you install the new drivers the screen will normally turn black for a few seconds and then come back on.
use the pci slot under the agp port the 1rst pci slot also uninstall any drivers and software from the last card you had if you had a built in video re enable it to see what you are doing you can run both go into the bios make sure it is using the boot to pci not agp remove or uninstall do not disable in the bios you can disable the shadow caches and uncheck vga pallette snoop and assign int for vga that should help
