What would cause your PS2 plugs to stop working?

on my computer for some reason my PS2 plugs stoped working at least I think they did because any keyboard or mouse I plug in wont do a thing what would cause this and how do I fix it

Answers:
I've seen this happen on a really old system when the connections to the motherboard started to corrode, brushing the crud off with a dry toothbrush fixed it temporarily (it worked for maybe an hour).
Also, some systems have a physical switch that locks out the keyboard and mouse somewhere on the case, and certain other old systems will disable the keyboard and mouse if the case is open.
It could also be a bios or driver problem, but those are difficult to diagnose or fix without being able to use the keyboard or mouse, you may want to have a professional take a look at it.
