How do you know what graphics card you have in your computer?
Answers:
Here the best solution:
Start > Run
type in dxdiag
under the tab "display", u can find all information about ur graphics card.
start run dxdiag.exe enter
If the computer is windows, use the system information program, (in Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information),
Go to cpuid.com, and download CPU-Z. It'll tell you everything inside your computer, and only works when you 'tell' it to! No spyware, or other junk, and you don't have to open your computer!
Right click on your desktop/properties/setting/ada... you can see what graphic card you have there.
Start > Run > (type in) dxdiag
Right click anywhere on your desktop
>Properties
Click on the Settings Tab
Underneath the little monitor image it should say
Display: Your display running on Your Graphics Card
If your graphics card is ATI, go download ATI Catalyst drivers
If your graphics card is nVidia, go download nVidia Forceware drivers.
Make sure you choose the ones that go with your Windows (ME, 2000/XP, Vista)
Simply hit start > Run > type Dxdiag > see video tab. there you can see your VGA card vendor and model.
about Nvidia and ATI, they are the 2 biggest VGA company out there. so it is usual that you find a program that use their product as reference, however, if you want to play game, you will need to buy one of their product. because onboard graphic solution might not be enough to play today's game. (just look for graphic card that support Direct X 9 or even better, Direct X 10, in case you want to buy something. ask again if you want to buy a new VGA, along with your budget and requirement. We'll help ^^
