How many songs and videos does a 256MB memory stick duo hold?
Answers:
Not all videos or tunes are the same size. Some tunes are just 5MB. In fact, you can create a video that is 256MB in size... That means that the answer could be ONE or FIFTY.
That memory stick is not intended for long term storage. Make a CD, which holds 700MB for long term, then COPY the stuff that you want NOW into that stick.
Good luck and Happy Computing!
Since MP3 songs vary in terms of sampling bit rate (which affects the size of the file) and length of song, that's a very difficult question to answer.
I picked one of my MP3s by Sting. It's 4:28 (4 minutes, 28 seconds) essentially 4.5 minutes long.
It was sampled at 192 bps (bits per second).
The file is 6,416,384 characters long. That works about to about 1.4MB per minute of music.
But that's for this particular song.
But, knowing the size of your memory stick, you might assume 1MB per minute of MP3 encoded music.
MP3s encoded at a lower rate (say 128 bpd or 96 bps) will be smaller for the same song but the audio quality will be lower.
256mb worth of stuff.
