Problem with my mouse...?

I recently bought a new microsoft mouse but i have to restart my computer so as to work. After that the mouse works perfectly. That has happened to me again some years ago when i had bought a new mouse. What should i do?

Answers:
In XP, unload the mouse driver and reboot the system with the mouse plugged into the computer. XP will reload the necessary driver. IF problems persist, check for an updated driver.

I hope this helps.
