How come my computer screen wont turn on when i install my ram?
Answer:
sounds like u bought the wrong kind of ram, did u check that u bought the correct specs, u should have bought the same type as your current ram. if ur ram doesnt say what it is, check with either the company that makes ur pc or ur motherboard.
to much ram check with manufacturer
Easy, wrong ram, or your board cant take that size.
you may have installed the new stick of ram backwards the bigger ram is supposed to be in the front like the 1 gig and then the smaller ram in the back.
o, if your motherboard doesnt support the kind of ram you have installed then it wont let the computer boot, but if you have supported ram then it all goes smooth, you need to return it and buy some ram that the motherboard supports, look next to the ram ports and look for specs, then write them down and swap the ram for new ram that will work with the motherboard
The first thing to check, and you may already know this, is ram compatibility. You should dig up your mother board documentation and see what it says about adding ram and which slot(s) to use. Check that you firmly insert the memory stick into the slot and position it. Usually they snap in place or have to be tipped into a secure position. The contacts are gold plated but may get dirt or film on it. To clean the contacts on the memory stick you can gently rub an eraser over it (alway hold it by the edges, never touch the contacts or circuitry).
