Buying new internal HD. Need a lil help?

I have 2 SATA hard drives but want to upgrade one with a 500Gb HD i have seen, however the drive is a SATA II. I have just the normal SATA on my motherboard, is the SATA II backward compatible like USB2 to USB 1.

Answers:
There is a jumper on the back of SATA II drives where the power and data connections are to downgrade it to SATA 1. There is a diagram on the drive telling you in what position this jumper should be to enable SATA 1.
I hope this helps.
motherboard won't allow sata II speeds, but it will work.
yes
Yes it is !!
Hi

Before spending i would check the motherboard maker website to see if the size is not a problem or do you need a bios update?[The bios chip has a sticker showing version so you can find out and the motherboard will have a model numer on it and maker name.

bye
