Question About RAID 1?

Intel 865G
1G DDR400
WD74
XP Pro

I want to add another WD74 with SIIG RAID Card and run it in RAID 1 mode. Since I'm running XP already, is it possible that I don't have to reinstall the whole thing and clone everything into the new one and start to run in RAID 1 mode?

Answer:
You will need to completely reformat the hard drive in order to build the RAID array. You will also need to install a fresh copy of windows to the RAID array after you have built it.

You might be able to load a drive image from Norton Ghost to the RAID after you format and build the array, but that would require yet another drive to host the image on (or a big-*** stack of DVD-R's)
