Computer speakers produce a high-pitched whine?

I have had these speakers for several years. They are Cambridge Soundworks. This problem just developed recently - following a brief power outage, although I don't know if that caused it or not (it was a week or so afterward that I tried to play music and discovered the problem). Music plays, but with a high-pitched whine or whistle in the background that you can still hear when you hit "stop". Any suggestions?

Answer:
u probally blew out some part of the speakers
u probally should just buy some new ones to save yourself from trying toget it fixed
Have you tried moving your speakers you may be picking up some kind of interference.
Your speakers are interfearing with you'r monitor. When they make a whine noise grab them both and moth them way and watch the noise dissapear!
