Answers:
Your drive may be corrupted.
The CD may also be a faulty one. Try popping other CDs.
if problem persist, you can conclude your CD drive is faulty and you need to get someone to examine it. =)
do yo have the CD drive that can actually burn CD's?
try cleaning the cd
It's most likely not your fault.
Something might be wrong with the cd-drive
Something could be wrong with the cd (physicly)
Something might went wrong during the writing of the cd
Something might be wrong with the file(s) on the cd
Try another pc, if it fails there as well call the person who gave you the cd and tell him you are unable to read the cd on two different pc's.
i suggest u reinstall the driver.
try reinstalling your driver. first though, put a game cd or any other cd in the drive --see if it works-----if not try a system diognostic-----try the cd in your dvd player also. your drive could be burnt, its happened to me. im glad I have my system insured.
if its a dell call tech support.
