What is the report/s you get.?
If it is a built in Sound card and gone out of order
you can add plugin sound cards.
OR Try System Restore.
Start/All programs//Accessories/system Tools/System Restore.
Try uninstalling ZoneAlarm, and trying the device again to see if it made any difference. You can always reinstall ZA, but that would be a step to take when troubleshooting your problem. You'll want to eliminate as many variables as you can. Good luck!

it's possible that you've picked up a heavy duty virus ,you can try windows live onecare safty scanner it's free takes about 1 hour but cleans up all the trash .you will probably have to download some more sound and audio programs though.best of luck ,byeeee
I think your sound card drivers has been corrupted some how.Drivers are the sound card software so if some thing happened to the drivers it will show like that.
There are 2 types of Sound cards one come inbuilt (with your motherboard)http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/soundport...
and some comes as separately .www.more-shop.co.uk/images/st...
so if your sound card is inbuilt the drivers will come with the main board CD.
you may have to reinstall the drivers
and if its a separate one you with the sound card you are getting separate cd ,just install it.
if u have any prob mail me ill help u:)
