no
I don't think you can use a dvd in a cd burner, but you can use a cd in a dvd burner.
dvd-r for dvd burner, cd-r for cd burner.
Well, I dunno. Some computers will allow it. Most don't though. You should try.
Strictly speaking DVD-R discs can only be used in DVD writer drives that support DVD-R discs. Some early models only took DVD+R discs - they are not the same things. Most models out today take lots of different disc types - DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-R/W, DVD-RAM, etc.
But, CD writers only took CD discs. They could take CD-R, or maybe CD-RW, etc.
If you only have a CD writer in your computer then I suggest backing up all your music files on several CD discs. To backup 4GB of files will take a few discs.
DVD-R/RW drives are backwards compatible with CD-R/RWs
CD-R/RW drives are not compatible with DVD-R/RWs,
Hope this helps.
