There are many webcams around nowadays that are real cheap but don't let that put you off.

Check your PC specifications and check whether your USB ports are USB 1.3 or USB 2.0. a USB 1.3 will only accept a USB 1.3 camera whilst a USB 2.0 will accept anything.

When you have established this then you know what to ask for. If you have usb 1.3 the quality wont be that good. If you have USB 2.0 the quality is much much better and the camera can also have a mic built into to record sound.

Now visit a page like this that has a webcam review

Now you know what to look for for webcam

Your motherboard asus motherboard p5vdc-mx supports

both DDR and DDR2 memory best to get ddr 2 you can buy from any pc stockist like pcworld. Just ask for DDR2 try and get a 1gig stick.

When you buy a video card for this motherboard ask for a PCI Express motherboard as your motherboard can use the new highend graphics cards.
webcams are probally the cheapest p.c peripheral you can buy and a good webcam can be bought for less than £10 these days
you need to be looking for at least 1mega pixel resolution and a built in mic, however most of the webcams have these specs
the Creative Live! Cam Vista IM(http://www.argos.co.uk/static/product/pa... a excellent model with all the above specs and more,a solid buy
as for a 512mb graphic card for the p5vdc-mx,you need to be looking for a pci-express card, and the 512MB Sapphire RX1950Pro from http://www.scan.co.uk/products/productin... a excellent card with some stunning specs including a 580mhz core clock and a 1400mhz memory clock, these are amazing speeds for any graphics card and combined with the 512mb of video memory this is a real workhorse
however what makes this card stand out is its pixel pipelines, these are rendering units that help produce the amazing effects such as smoke, fire and water which you see in games, the more pipelines the better the effects, and the RX1950Pro has a massive 36 pixel pipelines, which makes this a gamers dream
other interesting specs include ATi 3Dc
Microsoft DirectX® 9.0
OpenGL 2.0
Shader Model 3.0
and with the addition of another card this will become crossfire enabled, this is a.t.i,s equivelent to s.l.i(dual graphic cards),can you imagine running two of these in a p.c!
i hope this helps
good luck mate!
i have a "trust"webcam from copycatz £7.95 that out peforms most cams in the £0 to£100 range--they do a brill mic at £2.45 also .both with 12month guarentees.
