What you would approaching to do is easier done in desktops than within laptops. Also, gaming performance is much more dependent on GPU architecture and core/mem clock speeds. It is almost impossible to upgrade the 3D graphics ability of laptops. Overclocking the cpu and gpu is also dangerous because here is no way you could significantly advance cooling in a laptop. COOLING is the knob to great overclocks.

I'm under the indication the Aspire series are laptops, no? In that case, I would not recommend overclocking the CPU as the cooling is insufficent. Also I'm below the impression that if you have bought it at Circuit City, it would most likely hold only intergrated graphics. Highly unsuitable for gaming. However, you can buy a Asus XG Station. It is an external graphics section, which contains a NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GS graphics card. You can just plug it within to your system via Expresscard. However I do not know any retailers that carry it "in recent times yet." However the rumored price is around $400, so not extremely cheap for a single graphics card solution. Especially with some highly good Direct X 10 cards which are selling for merely $300.
