DVD Drive???

Hi, I would like to know if someone can tell me how to install a dvd drive on my computer, cuz I already tried doing it as it says on the intructions book, but it does not work. I have windows 98, I know it is old, but that is the reason why I am trying to install the dvd drive, so that I can install Windows XP please help me!!!

Your computer must meet the requirement on the side of the DVD box. I believe computer must be 800MHz or better for the CPU. At least, 256MB of ram.
Make sure you set the jumper on the back of DVD drive to correct setting of Master/Slave depending on the position of what part of IDE cable. Make sure the correct end of the cable is attached to motherboard. Power cable is seated firmly to DVD unit.
XP will normally install with a CD-R or CD-RW because they usual come in that format. Make sure your system meet all the requirement of the XP format.(Home, Pro, or Media Center)
