Would an external dvd burner be a wise add on for a 5 year old computer or should I just buy a new one?

It's frustrating not being able to burn home video. I'm just wondering if an external dvd burner would work well with an older model computer made by emachines.

If it's 5 years old, I'd replace the computer. The newer computer will come with a DVD burner built in, most likely. This may allow you to more easily upgrade to Windows XP or Vista too. Microsoft provides a tool to migrate all of your files from the old computer to the new (this probably requires a network interface).
Hey man, just buy a new computer. More then that make sure you a have a dvd driver which is abel to burn cds. Usually if you have this kind of driver then they just install the program for burning when you buy it. I dont exactly know how to say "driver that can burn" in english..
