How do you allocate some of the ram to the video card?

i have an hp dv9000t laptop, 256 mb video card, 2 g ram, windows vista premium, and ( as guilty as i am) want to play complex-realistic graphic games such as Flight Simulator X and Test Drive Unlimited.

Answer:
Your V-RAM is already at optimum level. Try reducing screen resolution and/or lowering game quality settings. Also try 16bit color quality instead of 32bit.
256 mb is more than enough as long as your card doesn't suck. More memory only helps on very high resolutions (like 1600 x 1200 and up). If the card sucks with 256 mb, it'll still be bad with more. And you can only allocate system memory to the card if you are using a desktop computer with the old agp technology.
