Answer:
I regard as that somehow by accident you uninstalled your Audio Adapter. Since you did not uninstall the drivers, I judge you are in righteous shape.

The best option immediately would be to go to Windows control Panel and run Add \ Remove Hardware Wizard. This will find your Audio Hardware. If the Wizard asks for the Drivers next you would just enjoy to install the Drivers for it. But if you did uninstall the Drivers also, then you will probably enjoy them in the System Drivers compact disc that came along beside your Computer. You can use this CD to re-install the Audio Adapter Drivers.

In casing you do not have this System Driver disc then you will enjoy to go to the website of the PC businesswoman and search for the Drivers for your Audio Adapter.
If you enjoy the CD that contains the driver, install or stir to google and search for it's driver. Be sure to find the nouns device name or etc.
I purely fixed a friend's computer with the nouns problems yesterday. When I went to Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and checked the nouns driver that don't seem to be working, it have a yellow ask mark on it intent that it wasn't being branded by the computer. Is this the kind of point that is showing up on yours?

For me to make a contribution better info, I would need to know more information more or less your computer. But I will try to give you the best info I can...

The computer I fixed yesterday didn't appear to own a registered version of window, so the automatic updates were out of use because of this. And apparently the auto detection on the add hardware wizard wasn't working any. Without being competent to use the auto detection on the add hardware wizard, I have to manually download and install the drivers myself. Does your computer have like peas in a pod problem?

Before you can get the right driver, you necessitate to know what type of computer that you have. Then you should enjoy no trouble getting the right drivers from the company support pages.

For HP computers, lately go to the HP Support Page (http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/supp... and type within what type of computer you have (like Pavilion 7955, for example) and the drivers for the audio and other things will show up.

For DELL computers, the DELL Support Page is at: http://support.dell.com/

For GATEWAY computers, the GATEWAY Support Page is at: http://support.gateway.com/support/drive...

When you download the drivers, try to select an chance for installing the software immediately, if it is available. And when the driver is installed and the computer restarts, the nouns and other things should start working right away.
