Seem to enjoy lost my e:/dvd drive,frothy comes on,drawer opens/closes ok,but when insert a disc,no response?
Answer:
This have happened to me beforehand first check the ide cable as it may be loose or possibly undermined, try changing the settle cable. If not could be the dvd drive, have you tried a different dvd. The system may not be recognising the dvd drive as the software for it could own been knock out so try re-installing it or there could be a problem elsewhere contained by your system so you could try a restore or a complete re-format and reload the operating system etc, works for me if all else fail. Dvd drives do tend to burn out quicker than cd drives but check everything else first.
Hope this helps
Andy
Have you tried multiple discs. Can you travel to windows explorer and go and get to the disc that way? enjoy you tried the disc in another piece of equipment to see if it is the disk. If all this doesnt work next replace the drive msot likely
I hold had this appear to me before. To find it to work again I used a System Restore point from a week ago.
if you have open your computer up, then get sure that the IDE cable is propperly connected to the dvd drive
if you have if truth be told LOST it from the "my computer" there may be a loose nouns on the IDEcable.
open the PC and check the nouns...
IDE: a thin gray ribbon on coming from the rear legs of the Drive to the Mother board.. make sure they are surrounded by tight... (don't by shy to push)
BE the CD can not find you to just suggest that the power flop re- starts to 2 times insert again behind ok
