Ok, so the other day I tried to install a few mp3 splitter programs. They didnt really work, so I uninstalled them, but my speakers wont work. Im on XP home, and my dads profile thingo still has sound, but mine doesnt. I tried system resotre, and volume control properties but nothing. When i put the speakers loud, i can hear that 'silent' noise, but no sound will come out of them. Any ideas?

Hi there,
It sounds like you may have removed the drivers for your sounds card by mistake.
Go to Start, My Computer RIGHT CLICK, go to Properties, Hardware Tab, Then the Device Manager, RIGHT CLICK on Sound, Video and Game Controller, Click on "Scan for Hardware Changes".
Then follow the instructions to install the diver, Make sure you have it search on auto. (it should have the word "recommended" next to it)
Then you should be all set.
