Which video card is best to play spanking new games and will not cost me an arm and a leg?

Answer:
Get the XFX 8800GTS 320mb.

It have Direct X 10 and 320mb of video memmory to handle demanding games. I own seen them lately for $250 after rebate. XFX has a lifetime warranty and perfect tech support. Search on www.pricegrabber.com for the cheapest available price on this card. Good luck.
Nvidia is pretty good, obtain one at wal-mart or circuit city somewhere like that it should cost you around 80-200 for a wearing clothes one
I say that the most recent and most expensive video card is best to play games because exotic video cards come out every month or so, which will make your current one out-of-date.

My opinion is to spend as much as you can on a unusual video card, so you won't have to lose money and save buying mediocre ones as new cards come out.

Or be in motion to a Best Buy, Circuit City, or Fry's Electronics (I prefer Fry's for the cheap, but good stuff). And confer to someone there (everyone who works at the computer department is amazingly knowledged) and tell your situation and ask what they ruminate.

good luck.
<$100, 7300GT ddr3.
>$100, 7600GT ddr3, 8600GT (DX10 & w/ PureVideoHD)
Around $200, 7900GS or X1950 Pro plus probably a power supply upgrade.

Do not be attracted by 512Mb ddr2 videoram. 256Mb ddr3 will beat it ALL THE TIME. 512Mb is not other fully utilized in games.
7600GT. Around $100 on Newegg, which is MILES better than Walmart or CC.
