Will i notice a conciderable performance difference from a Geforce 6800, to a xfx 8600 GT?

The reason i ask is, i just ordered the Xfx geforce GT 8600 for £64 pounds, cheapest i could find it.

But i know there are better cards in the 8000 series, such as fatal1ty or the xxx version.

Concidering my old card was a standard geforce 6800, and i was relatively happy with that... Plus... ive just bought the 8600 gt for £64.

Have i got a deal? or should i have taken another option?

The 8600 is unfortunately released with very poor memory interface (likely the same what u have now) its cutback on mem performance and such as well... most i have delt with compare the 8600 to the 7600's (poor upgrade)
The 6800 you have was a high-end card 3-4 years ago, the 8600 is a mid-range card just made recently.

In other words, older games that are graphic intensive will run better on the 6800. But newer games, especially games made to support Direct X 10, will run much faster on the 8600.

So whether the card runs better than the one you have currently all depends on what game you are playing.
