Does a video card memory effect photoshp?

i think ive read somwhere that the memory of a videocard is mostly usefull for gaming.does it effect anything like photoshop or other photo retouchin softwares?

Answers:
Yes it does. Depending on the size of the photo, the video card must work that much harder to redraw the image you are viewing. The better the card, the smoother your picture will move when you navigate around it, retouch it, add effects, etc. The big difference between gaming and extreme photo/video editing is that games tend to move a lot of details fast on the screen. So you may benefit by getting a slightly slower card, but with big memory on it. also, i'd suggest looking into a pc with pci express slots for advanced video cards which would improve performance.
Absolutely..the more the better.
In a way it does. It helps with the display of high resolutions pictures. If you take a quad core cpu and a basic intel chipset intergrated video card it will load graphics slower even in internet explorer etc. Add a good vodeo card to the mix and it will run 10x better.

U can get descent cards for a lot less money with 320 megs of ram for under 200 these days by nvidia.
Yes, it will help display the full image quality of the picture, as well as increase the performance of your monitor being able to show the images you work with more quickly.
