Dvd burner question?

If i buy a dvd burner will it play movies on computer? And if i get a burner can i copy a dvd from a regular CDROM or do i need a dvd player on computer as well to burn to dvd burner?

Answers:
the burner will read and play disks as well ... and no a cdrom will not read a dvd .. what u would do is put the dvd u want to copy in first then rip it to harddrive with dvd decrypter .. then use dvd shrink to make it small enough to fit a regular 4.7g disk ... then pop in a blank and burn the files back to it ..
a dvd burner drive will also function as a normal dvd-rom drive. so you can read dvds in it as well. (i.e., watch dvd movies.)

you cannot read a dvd from a cd-rom drive. but you can use the dvd burner drive to read the disc. (i.e., read the source disc in the dvd burner, then take out the disc and put in a blank disc to burn it.)
dvd burner is better than cd burner since in cd burner you can burn only cds and play cds. but in dvd burner you can play and burn both cds and dvds
