I need help with USB External Hard Drive!?

I have Western Digital USB External Hard Disk. Everytime I connect them, my computer recognize it, but it doesnt show anything on my computer section. I dont know how to access any files!! HELP!

well right click on my computer, and select properties. then hardware. then device manger and under universial bus controller you should see the device. if you see a "!" then something is wrong. have you tried it on another computer?
