My DVD+-R/RW drive will stop working and the computer will not recognize it after about 5 to 10 min. after boot up. It will work fine right after boot and will be seen by the computer, in both My Computer and device manager, and it will stay working for as long as it is doing a process, like using DVDshrink, but when it is inactive for a while it stops working and is no where to be found on the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device, updated the drivers, but none of that fixed the problem, any suggestions.
Answers:
You could be having a heat problem with the drive. If you have the space try to have an open bay between it and the next device.
You may also want to get an extra fan for the case to bring in fresh air and exhast the hot air
