USB TV requirements?

I've got a USB TV but the picture is jumpy i have a athlon 1.6 mhz processor. the manfactuer recommends p3 1.5mkz or above but cant find the mb of the graphics card. the manufactuer recommends at least a 32mb vga card i dont think i have this as the card is on board nd not separate and dosnt quote its mb. Do i need to upgrade to a at least 32mb card or a bigger processor? i am running XP.the usb tv tuner is made by Tevion

Answer:
first task jb,is to find your graphics adapter or card.go to start>control panel>display properties>settings>advanced>a... will tell you your graphics card or onboard solution
now you know your graphics manufacturer i need you to download and install the latest drivers for your card,if its nvidia go to http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/dr... if its a.t.i go to http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html...
install these, this will bring your display drivers up to date, now we need to update your direct x runtime files, these drivers are responsible for the 3d acceleration you see in applications but also help multimedia applications run better, you can download these from http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-us/abo...
now we have updated the important drivers for your graphics card/adapter then you need to go to http://www.medion.co.uk/,and use the webpage to find a up to date driver for your tevion usb tv adapter
if your graphics card is not compatible(which i dont think it will be)then a good cheap replacement is the Gigabyte 7100GS TurboCachePCI-E(x16)(http://www.scan.co.uk/products/productin...
this is a good all round card, with plenty of power to run your tv card and any other multimedia hardware you wish to use
once you have installed the latest graphic drivers and direct x update your usb tv card should work much better
any probs let me know
good luck mate!
You set the amount of memory assigned to the onboard video in BIOS (hit DEL to enter SETUP when you first turn on the PC, usually)

And I assume you have a really decent aerial?
first try downloading siw (system info for windows) it's free for non commercial use what this cant tell you about your computer hardware/software you dont want/need to know (best i've found anyway).get it from here http://www.gtopala.com/
my son told me he wanted to get a faster processor more memory as his duron 1.6 with i think 512 ddr ram was much slower than his friends 2.4 with 1gb ram. i told him not to waste his money but buy the best vid card he could. we went to a comp fair and he paid 55 pound for a card with with 256m ddr400 on board (dont recall the name of the card). he later told me he now had the fastest game machine. told you this just as an example.
machines with on board video are ok for the more mundane stuff. but they use processor and system resources which is fine provided you dont ask too much. a decent graphic card will have dedicated processor/memory built in which is faster and takes the load off the system. you wont need a card like my son bought. i would expect to get one suitable for less than 20 pound. you will have to check what cards your board will accept pci/agp and you may have to go into setup to dissable the onboard graphics. finally is your usb 1 or 2 as this may be important you can get a usb 2 card for 10 pound i know as i got one for mine also at a comp fair.
