Will the Blu-ray disks change everday CDs?

ı just read about the bluray disks, they're wayyyy too expensive, a BG-DL-RW costs 75 bucks, and a BG-RW drive costs wayy too expensive, If anyone knows about when the Blu-ray disks will be opened for world-wide use like CDs and DVDs are now, jus' answer, (simple, right?)lol

Answers:
Blu-ray is going the way of the Betamax, way too much expense for not enough innovation. I'm waiting for the next thing, like what DVDs were for VHS.
when sony decides to not be so cheap and release them im predicting in about 5 years do u remember how expensive dvd recordables were when they released
I doubt it. Blu Ray is not really meant as an audio only format. In fact, Sony already came up with a "next generation" audio format in SACD. SACD did not catch on.

Instead Blu Ray is meant for video (i.e. movies and video games) and other storage. CDs should remain around for now.
