Why wont my USB detect devices?
Answers:
USB is a flaky interface/protocol. Unfortunately we are stuck with it till something better comes along. What you might try doing is disconnecting all of your USB devices from your computer. Hopefully your Mouse & Keyboard are PS2 style which is a lot more reliable than USB. Boot up your computer in safe mode (tap F8 untill boot menu appears). and go into Control Panel-->System-->Hardware--->D... Manager and expand the 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'. Delete every single item in there until the whole USB section is gone. Then reboot your PC and let Windows reinstall the USB (wait a minute or two for this to happen) Then plug one device in at a time an see if windows detects it. If still no go, then you may need to purchase a PCI 4-port USB Card which you should be able to get for about $15 unless you go to a big retailer then expect to pay at least double that...
i am having this exact same problem! it's so frustrating! unfortunately i haven't found a solution though.. sorry. but i'll be interested to see what answers you get.
OK,you must to buy another one or don't use it and if you have any (antivirs you must scan any thing you put it in the (USB)hub).
you might have
1. A virus so you need to update your Anti virus
2. Deleted or removed your USB drivers. Try installing them back or do system restore. That might do the trick.
OK, sounds like the drivers for your USB ports have become corrupted.
Try this:
Go to Start>Control Panel>System>Device Manager. Scroll down the list of devices till you find Universal Serial Bus Controllers (that's your USB's). Open up the list by clicking on the + sign. I suspect you will find that one or more of your USB's will have a yellow sign with an exclamation mark. Double click on any that do and choose "Rollback driver" and OK. Try your USB ports again. If this does'nt work repeat the process but this time choose "Update Driver".
Good luck!
the only way for those USB port can detect any USB device again is by doing this go..to the System properties on the control panel.then click the system..then go to the hardware menu..then go to the device manager..then..find tho word Universal serail Bus Controllers right click one and click uninstall..then do the same to the rest..and restart your computer..and try to plug you device once your computer turns on..
