My cd-rom only wants to read dvd's or gaming cd's when it wants too. It use to be able to read dvd's and gaming cd's with no problem, but now it only works sometimes. Does this mean my cd-rom is slowly dying on me or should try cleaning it?

Try cleaning your CDs. Then try getting a new drive. ThenIt's a problem about your computer.
