How do I get my speakers to work?

I recently had my computer cleaned out and now I can't get my speakers to work again. I asked for help from the company that made the speakers & I also went to Dell. Neither helped.

Answers:
things to check and steps to fix

first logon with an account with administrator rights

goto start, then control panel
first open up the sound icon if it shows there is no audio device and you are unable to select one then close the window
still in control panel open the system icon, then click on the hardware tab, then device manager. click on the sound, video and game controller line to expand it...
if this shows your sound card right click on it and then on properties... if it is there and shows there are no conflicts then here is your fix

again in control panel click on administrative tools, now click on services.
in the window that pops up scroll down until you find "windows audio"
if it shows disabled just set it to automatic
upon doing so your sound should be back
Check to make sure your sound card was not deleted.
start/control panel/sound. From here you can troubleshoot your system.
